Charlotte Thorne has been assisting high-net-worth individuals in navigating the financial services industry for over 20 years. As a co-founder of Capital Generation Partners (CapGen) in 2007, she played a pivotal role in establishing a firm that stands out in the market by exclusively serving ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) families. She has helped develop bespoke and sophisticated investment solutions in Portfolio Management, Commercial Real Estate, and Direct Investments. Through launching CapGen and working closely with clients, Charlotte has become a key figure in the industry, supporting families in maximising the value from their investment managers, while also influencing the investment sector’s understanding of and response to the unique needs of family investors.

Charlotte leads CapGen’s Risk Committee and initiated the firm’s Responsible Capital programme, aimed at addressing global environmental and social challenges. Her career began at HM Treasury, where she advised both Conservative and Labour ministers on policies related to corporation tax and pensions. Charlotte also spent a year in Brussels as a diplomat in the UK’s embassy to the European Commission and worked in policy at the then Financial Services Authority (FSA). She holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) from Oxford University.
